Gridder

Cookie Notice

Last updated: 22 October 2026

1. Purpose and scope

This notice explains how Gridder uses cookies and similar technologies in your browser. "Gridder" is the service operated by Feesorted Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number 17201366 and registered office at Second Floor Flat East, 44 Regents Park Road, London, England, NW1 7SX. "We" means Feesorted Limited; "you" means anyone using the Gridder website at getgridder.com.

It applies to the website. It does not apply to the Excel add-in, the data API or the MCP server, which use keys or tokens that you supply and do not use browser cookies. Our wider handling of personal data is in the Privacy Notice.

2. Summary

3. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. A browser cookie is sent back to the website each time your browser makes a request. Local storage is a browser feature that lets a website keep small amounts of data on your device. It is not sent to the website automatically with each request. In this notice, "cookies" includes both unless we say otherwise.

4. The law

The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR) require that we tell you about cookies and similar technologies and obtain your consent before storing or reading them on your device. There is an exemption where the storage or access is strictly necessary to provide a service that you have requested. Where PECR rules involve personal data, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 also apply. For users in the EEA, the equivalent national rules implementing the ePrivacy Directive apply. We rely on the strictly necessary exemption for everything listed below, so no consent is requested.

5. Cookies we set

The session cookie is created when you sign in. It is removed when you sign out, when the session expires, or when you delete it in your browser. The gridder_browser cookie remains after you sign out so that the next sign-in from the same browser can be recognised.

At the date of this notice, none of these cookies is used to track you across other websites, to build a profile for marketing, or to show you advertisements.

6. Local storage

Key or areaPurposeContentsLifetimeCategory
Display choices in browser localStorage (keys beginning gridder.)Remembers how you prefer Gridder to look and behave, for example chosen columns, sorting, filters, panel sizes, light or dark appearanceInterface settings only. No password, no session token, no personal profileUntil you clear your browser's site dataStrictly necessary: it stores only choices you make, to provide the service as you asked for it

This data stays in your browser. We do not receive it, and it is not shared with third parties. Gridder works if it is unavailable or cleared, but you will need to set your choices again.

7. What we do not use

At the date of this notice we do not use analytics or measurement cookies or scripts, advertising or retargeting cookies, social media plug-ins or embedded third-party content that sets cookies.

If we introduce any cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this notice and ask for your consent before setting it, as the law requires.

8. Server logs are not cookies

When your browser requests a page, our server records technical information, including your IP address, user agent and time of the request, and we log usage per request (user, time, channel, bytes). This is not done through cookies. It is described in the Privacy Notice, including the lawful basis and how long we keep it.

9. Your choices

Because the cookies are strictly necessary, you cannot opt out of them while using the signed-in website. You can control cookies and local storage through your browser:

  1. Open the settings of your browser and find the section for cookies or site data.
  2. Delete the cookies or site data for getgridder.com to sign out and remove the stored choices.
  3. Block cookies for the site if you wish. Doing so will prevent sign-in.

Browser instructions differ. Your browser's help pages explain how. The guidance of the Information Commissioner's Office on cookies is available at ico.org.uk.

10. Shared computers

If you use Gridder on a shared computer, sign out when you finish and clear the site data for getgridder.com, so that the next user does not see your display choices and the gridder_browser marker is removed.

11. Changes

We may update this notice when we change the cookies or storage we use. The date of the current version is at the top.

12. Questions and complaints

Questions about this notice go to privacy@getgridder.com. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Details are in the Privacy Notice and Contact and Complaints.

13. Cookies and the Excel add-in, API and MCP server

The Excel add-in, the data API and the MCP server do not rely on the website cookies described above. They authenticate using credentials that your group issues, such as an API Key. Requests made through these Channels are recorded in the usage log (user, time, channel and bytes), which is not a cookie. Where the Excel add-in displays a Gridder pane inside Excel, that pane is rendered by a browser component supplied with Excel and may store the same cookies and the same local storage entries on your computer. The rules in this notice apply to that storage in the same way.
